FBC #89 Full Pink Moon
April 26, 2021 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Flashback to the last ride that we did:
We WILL be having a group ride in August. It WILL look different. If there’s only one rule and it’s “don’t be an asshole,” that will cover a LOT of territory for the August ride.
So here we are. APRIL, 2021.
We made it.
Who We Are
We are slow, we are here, we are not going fast or rolling hard. This is a ride of celebration that we’ve made it this far, if nothing else. But. We’re not out of the woods yet. And YES I’m stoked to hear about your vaccination but you know what? I only got sick ONCE last year and it was a 24 hour cold virus thing and I really would prefer not even to get a sniffle this year! #wearamask
Admittedly, this will involve some risk assessment for folks. To clarify what I’ve been doing: Working part-time in a retail setting with required safety protocols (mask usage, cleaning, etc); teaching one-on-one bicycle lessons with required safety protocols (mask usage, cleaning, physical distance); and grocery shopping as necessary, wearing a mask. Also so much hand washing, Jesus H Christ. Solo bike riding on occasion, masked and unmasked depending on the location. Having physically distant socialising one-on-one with friends about once a month, for up to an hour. I am hoping to make this ride as safe as possible given the circumstances, but will still stipulate that it involves some level of risk for all who come.
How Long Do We Do It
Estimated roll between 6-10 miles – allot at least 1 1/2 hours for the ride (no significant stops). We may linger a little at the start location afterwards (socially distant? you can remove the face coverings! it’s THAT EASY). Feel free to bring a beverage for post-ride hangz, but don’t anticipate it being too long.
Aw Geez I Am Sick of Wearing a Face Covering, Dude
Face coverings required. There is no debate on this. Don’t want to wear one? Stay home. Why wear a face covering when riding in a group? Because we yell, we holler, we get a little close on the passes, we might pass other people in the street, etc. The understanding of face coverings in public, with outdoor spaces being literally the most ventilated you can get, is evolving – and many people are saying it’s OK to be uncovered. But. I love every single one of you and I’d love to see you make it through another year. So for now, we cover our faces during movement. (When not moving – go ahead and remove face coverings if you prefer!)
SHARE WITH FRIENDS! We are a group of people who like bikes and riding at night and creative displays.
21+, bring lights!!!!, watch the FBC Twitter account for weather updates closer to the ride date and as always come out and have some fun.
Destination location is TBD. We roll whatever the weather EXCEPT IF IT IS SUPER CRAPPY; rides usually range from between 6-10 miles round trip and may include opportunity for beveraging at the destination location. Casual ride, novice to expert cyclists welcome, be 21+, bring lights, ***bring ID***. We have only one rule. Yes, this being Nashville, there may be hills along the route. We are a NO DROP RIDE!
Be 21+, bring ID. Only one rule: don't be an asshole.
