FBC #86 Full Rideaversary Moon
July 4 @ 8:00 pm - 11:30 pm
The annual anniversary ride sees us launching headfirst into our 8th year of existence. Back in 2013 an intrepid and slightly hungover group of folks came together to ride from East Nashville’s Five Points over to Rock Bottom Brewing on lower Broadway and the rest, they say, is history.
This year’s anniversary ride will be different – you pick the route, you enjoy the sights, and whether you go to safely watch fireworks (note: no downtown fireworks this year at all) or head over to the Bike 4 Equality ride to the BLM demonstration downtown (3p meet, 3:30p roll from Halcyon) or just take the time to cruise around your neighborhood, please know that FBC misses you and hopes you and your family and friends are staying safe, staying home when possible, and washing yer damn hands.
It’s a bit funny: I had been getting weary of planning dates and rides and not knowing who was going to show up (but being excited when anyone showed up!) and thinking that sometime in 2020 I was going to either find someone else to take over FBC or just let it fade away. And here’s the sort-of fading away, thanks to a global health situation that nobody anticipated. But the less we got together to ride at night, the more I missed it. Funny, that.
We WILL be having a group ride in August. It WILL look different. If there’s only one rule and it’s “don’t be an asshole,” that will cover a LOT of territory for the August ride.
SHARE WITH FRIENDS! We are a group of people who like bikes and riding at night and creative displays.
21+, bring lights!!!!, watch the FBC Twitter account for weather updates closer to the ride date and as always come out and have some fun.
Destination location is TBD. We roll whatever the weather EXCEPT IF IT IS SUPER CRAPPY; rides usually range from between 6-10 miles round trip and may include opportunity for beveraging at the destination location. Casual ride, novice to expert cyclists welcome, be 21+, bring lights, ***bring ID***. We have only one rule. Yes, this being Nashville, there may be hills along the route. We are a NO DROP RIDE!
Be 21+, bring ID. Only one rule: don't be an asshole.
