FBC #84 Full Frankie Flower Moon
May 8, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Picture here is from the 2017 Frankie Triathlon with all the finishers (walk, bike, & kiddie pool segments).
FBC #84 – we will still be riding solo or with your household pod. But, this is a special FBC worth noting.
FBC will roll again on Friday 5/8 with a SPECIAL Full Flower Frankie Triathlon Moon. 🌕 🐶 🚲
What is a Frankie Triathlon? Well, back in 2017 & 2018, I celebrated Frankie’s birthday by getting some friends together to walk about a mile, ride maybe 10 miles, & then enjoy a dip in a kiddie pool.
Frankie was theoretically born in July, but it is also painfully hot, so the kiddie pool became the reward at the end. It was a really fun idea & a great way to spend an afternoon.
(Don’t have a kiddie pool? You can have a refreshing beverage of your choice, instead.)
But the kicker is – we’re gonna be alone again. Or, at most, riding with your household crew.
I can’t tell you how many times someone would come up to Frankie just to ask what kind of dog he was, or tell me what kind of dog they thought he was. But for 17 years, he tolerated kids, adults, friends, dogfriends, cats, fish – just about everybody that came his way. A chill, easygoing guy for 17 years.
On October 8, 2019, he was put to sleep on the very front porch he loved to sit on. It’s been 7 months since he’s been gone, & I’d like to mark the passage this way.
So when can you do this Frankie Triathlon? Do it in the daytime. Do it at night. Take all day to do it if you want! Go as far & how long you want. Can’t leave your house? Ride a pretend bicycle & walk around your kitchen & drink a sparkling soda. Ta-daaaa! 🎉 If you can leave your house, take photos along the way. Look for other small brown dogs & say hello to them.
If you want to share your Frankie Triathlon adventures, use the hashtag #frankietriathlon2020 on whatever social mediaz you use & just let me know where to look. I’ll have a digital badge for all the finishers. Finish all your segments before Sunday, May 10th!
Thanks & keep it rubber side down out there. ^kj
