FBC #74 Full Anniversary Moon
July 13 @ 7:00 pm - 10:30 pm
The annual anniversary ride sees use launching headfirst into our 7th year of existence. Back in 2013 an intrepid and slightly hungover group of folks came together to ride from East Nashville’s Five Points over to Rock Bottom Brewing on lower Broadway and the rest, they say, is history.
This year’s anniversary ride will be considerably more rural, and will feature the usual hangout shenanigans afterwards. You will also have a chance to meet and greet Mr. Frankie, a dog of seventeen years, who recently celebrated that milestone achievement too.
We’ll be riding from my house up in Neely’s Bend over to Peeler Park, in through the park, and back down the Bend – a total of maybe 15 miles or so. We will start a little before dark and maybe take a few hours to toodle around and greet the deer, and the groundhogs, and the bunnies. (Try to stay away from the skunks.) THERE ARE A COUPLE OF HILLS. THERE WILL BE GRAVEL IN THE PARK. This location is also, admittedly, NOT the best to get to on a bike – but if you do, consider coming down Old Old Hickory to Rio Vista/Cherokee as a less stressful route than Neely’s Bend by Gallatin.
Hangout afterwards – please consider bringing a chair, something to nosh on or drink to share. We’ll have some tasty snacks and some libations (both boozy and non). Come to ride and hang or just come to ride.
SHARE WITH FRIENDS! We are a group of people who like bikes and riding at night and creative displays.
21+, bring lights!!!!, watch the FBC Twitter account for weather updates closer to the ride date and as always come out and have some fun.
Destination location is TBD. We roll whatever the weather EXCEPT IF IT IS SUPER CRAPPY; rides usually range from between 6-10 miles round trip and may include opportunity for beveraging at the destination location. Casual ride, novice to expert cyclists welcome, be 21+, bring lights, ***bring ID***. We have only one rule. Yes, this being Nashville, there may be hills along the route. We are a NO DROP RIDE!
Be 21+, bring ID. Only one rule: don't be an asshole.
